The Road to Ridge is truly a challenge!
I drove up there once with my friend M___. I was in the Bay Area with my Lotus, and he took his Viper. The Lotus is smaller and much less power, but equally fast (if not faster) than the Viper because it was all we could do to turn the wheel far enough to jockey our cars around the corners without flying off.
Sadly after a couple tastes the guys we were sitting with got into telling the winemaker "with a few percent more oak and a bit less shade on the fruit before harvest, you really could have made something special..." bla bla bla.
I suspect that's not what the average winemaker wants to hear from the average (Thirsty) customer.
M___ did have a very nice garage full of cars, but sadly a wife-free house.

...had to drive my wife to an off-site for her company. The Monte Bello winery is on a reaaaaaally windy and steep road : ) The wine is good though!
Actually, the winery is in the hills of Cupertino, which is South of Napa...
...up in the hills with awesome views of Silicon Valley... But I'd be happy to give you some Napa recommendations as well!

Sometimes I wonder if there is really an expensive, standard taste for good wines? What actually can we taste or looking for? Can we really tell the difference on a smooth but

The Ridge wines are great.
A fruit-forward style, but not in the unbalanced California fruit-bomb style. Very nice, well-balanced wines. Cheers, John
