Both from 1999, a very good vintage. First up, a Premier Cru from the Cote de Nuits, a Vosne-Romanee Les Beaux Monts from Clavelier. The wine was surprisingly primary despite being two decades old. Good potential here. Solid fruit and very nice balance, e...  

.....i tend to lean towards Vosne Romanee ,but enjoy the perfume of Volnay. Sadly these wines have become too expensive unless purchased much earlier. Glad you enjoyed these gems! best henry

You are right, though. Burgundy wines have skyrocketed in price. A very limited supply meets worldwide demand.
