You're making me miss my former company car now... A Model S P100D.

Look at LCID stock; here's a quick and very basic analysis... This is an electric car company. Market cap is currently only $30B. It’s primary investor is the Saudi Government. The company is headquartered in Newark, CA near Fremont where Tesla has their factory.

Lucid is making a high end $100,000 sedan equivalent to the Tesla Model S and Mercedes S Class. The design is interesting. They have excellent technology when it comes to motors (higher power than Tesla, lower weight than Tesla, lower power consumption than Tesla, probably lower cost due to lower weight, but unknown reliability compared to Tesla). Lucid uses an LG cell battery (not pouch) that they do not produce in-house.

Lucid has a brand new factory built in Arizona and is scheduled to be releasing their new cars in late 2021. It is believed that their Lucid Air 2022 model will have a 520 mile EPA range (using EPA measurement standards), the longest in the industry.

At a $30B valuation, Lucid is a little low compared to Rivian (which makes pick up trucks and SUVs and is backed by Ford and by Amazon).

Rivian is currently valued at $70B-80B and it’s not even public yet. Rivian does make an SUV and truck, currently SUVs are faster sellers than sedans, even in the high end market.

Tesla is currently valued at over $750B.

From the valuations of Rivian at $70B-80B and Tesla at $750B and climbing, I would say Lucid stock has potential at its current valuation of only $30B.

Continuing risks:
1. Lucid’s car may not sell well.
2. Looking at the car’s design, the rear trunk space opening is small and oddly shaped. Critics may not like it.
3. Mercedes-Benz and BMW are starting to enter the EV space. With products in the pipeline coming in 2022.
4. Tesla may release a new product to compete with Lucid’s product.
5. Lucid’s car may be unreliable or have big problems. Fire, crashes, defects, etc.
6. Lucid doesn’t have the special charging network that Tesla has. Tesla has thousands of Tesla gas stations (chargers). Tesla has said they will open their gas stations to regular EVs too. 7. Lucid's intelligent cruise control with lane centering and matching-the-speed-of-the-car-ahead system may not be as good as Tesla's "Autopilot." 8. As far as full-self-driving goes, it is uncertain if Lucid will ever have a lead or if they will just rely on Waymo or another service provider.  9.  Lucid at $30B is a great takeover target for Apple, but Apple doesn't have the stomach for a hostile takeover and Lucid executives/board/investors would likely be resistant.

Very green to ride a bike!

 By: patrick_y : September 10th, 2021-20:57
I haven't ridden a bike in a while! And I've never ridden a bike while wearing a nice watch since I was little kid. I had a little tumble off the bike and I scratched my Casio at the time. Beautiful watch! I didn't know you cycled regularly! And with such...

Thank you, Patrick :-)

Denmark is cycling country and we have a big culture for riding a bike as part of our infrastructure. All kids are thought how to ride and in school, kids at a very early age, learn about the traffic rules for bikes. You will see bicycles everywhere and l...

Very cool! And very smart of you to avoid cobblestones!

I had forgotten that Denmark is a big bike riding nation. I need to travel more! And I've never been to Copenhagen! I thoroughly enjoyed watching the movie "Druk" also known as "Another Round" in UK/USA markets. Unfortunately in the USA, where I live, mos...

What you say has some very good points...

That there is always a context around a solution. I know NYC have been trying to learn about bike culture from Copenhagen. I saw the same in Paris with my wife. It did not look safe, because the culture and knowing how to ride safely has to be learned bot...

Paris would not be a great place to go bike riding.

In San Francisco, there are a lot of hills. Bike riders have to take specific routes that are flatter with large bike lanes in order to be safe. But these routes are so congested with bikers that there is a long queue of bikers. I'm just worried one day s...

I used to cycle to work sometimes.

But the cycle infrastructure here is not exactly great. Throwback picture for me; I wasn’t wristed with a Journe on Friday. ...

That jade bracelet is really pretty with your CB!

 By: ChristianDK : September 13th, 2021-12:47
I thought NYC was building lots of bike lanes and trying to implement it on a big scale? PS. Im still just enjoying being reunited with the CS- But now Im thinking if I should pick up my CB from the bank?

You are correct, there have been huge improvement in cycle infrastructure.

But, nothing near enough and it’s deadly dangerous on the streets as both drivers and pedestrians are just not used to cyclists. Fortunately my commute is simple and 90% off street. Padj always loved that bracelet too.

Thank you, my friend. I think cycling in Paris is a bit hazardous - at least the last time I checked. But a perfect place for an electric vehicle.

 By: ChristianDK : September 13th, 2021-19:24
I’m quite sure my next car will be electric. There are some cool options coming out.

Totally agree about cycling in Paris Christian. Super crazy dangerous city to cycle in and I would never do it. Happily I do not live in Paris nor anywhere close 😉

 By: holdemchamp1225 : September 13th, 2021-19:27
As for all the electric vehicles coming out, it is a great time to take advantage of all the new tech 😉👍

I agree about electric cars. I don't dislike my Tesla. Sure, some parts aren't perfect. But otherwise, it's a very good car!

My biggest gripes; 1, glass isn't hydrophobic and the water sticks on the glass (I apply RainX and this product helps make the glass more hydrophobic); 2, car gets hot due to the glass roof (I have sunshades); 3, interior materials aren't the quality I'm ...

I'm thinking about it...

 By: patrick_y : September 15th, 2021-03:17
I'm thinking about upgrading to the S. Another person told me to upgrade my brakes. I've never modified any of my cars before, but seriously these brakes are dangereux! But I was thinking of saving the money and buying more TSLA stock instead too... Hmm.....
