I love the Vagabondage series

If I had a money tree, I would buy all of the three.

They are unmistakably Journe although the shape takes inspiration from the watches he did for Cartier, I think this case is transformed so much he can call it his own design and that it much more beautiful.
My absolute favorite of the three is the first Vagabondage. Although the time display design is taken from his “Carpe Diem” from 1997, I feel strongly that this is where I becomes something new and fresh out of a metamorphosis of classical watch design. This watch is proof to me that FP is not only an artisan but an artist. 2 and 3 are great as well but build on the incarnation of the first.

Work from home : Finally a Journe !

 By: Jay (Eire) : April 20th, 2020-09:50
Continuing with my work from home theme. This time a Journe which I think will make Mike a little happier as I told him last week that it’s been several weeks since I’ve worn a watch!!! The Vagabondage, specifically the Vagabondage II which is defined by ...

Hooray, Jay!

Although I notice you’re still not wearing it. This is not my favorite Journe, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t consider it at some point. The casework is nice; and I seem to remember it was not too large. An interesting take on jumping hours, etc. While ...

It’s relatively small, your memory is correct. Very wearable.

I think that always helps with a coloured metal, especially for those of us who don’t wear coloured metal generally. I did put it on, for 10 seconds.

1/8640th of today.

Why not double it tomorrow?

This one is from Jean Rousseau.

But you can go to any of the reputable custom strap makers, choose your hide and chose the specific cut from the hide. You need to do it in person however, online can be done but I don’t think it’s worth it unless you can see the hide in person with the w...

You know my thoughts on this Jay

It’s probably on my top 3 Journes I was fortunate thanks to you of course to handle this particular piece and I’m still blown away by it And the stem strap just gives it much more coherence Truly sublime my friend

For me it is definitely [nt]

The Chronometre Optimum Black Label and this exact Vagabondage II with this exact same camo strap. If I ever make it happen one day I hope you’ll take it with no offense and understand that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Cheers! BTW - I do o...

Haha, all good.

I remember when I first mounted that strap there were some comments to the effect of “don’t let F.P. see that”, all in good humor of course. Also, I tried several months ago to get the same strap for another watch but while the camo hide was available the...

You know I think I prefer the Carpe Diem, but for sure the Vagabondage is maybe more interesting given the case shape. The case obviously makes it “more Journe” too.

It’s also interesting that the Carpe Diem was automatic, and a micro rotor. Pictures for those who have never seen this piece unique. Photos are courtesy of our own FX (please remove if there is any issue with me posting). ...

I really wish I loved the Vagabondage series, but...

The shape of the case just stops me from adding it to my collection every time I see one. I'm glad you love it as I really do wish I could as I love the evolution of the 3 part series. One day I hope to track down a Carpe Diem, was a great part of the Jou...
