Nov 20, 2019,14:13 PM
I have no doubt that this will be incredible in person... I'm yet to touch a Journe I've not liked

I also answered 885k chf plus tax, then noticed that Christian just gave the answer... so I wanted to delete my post but that was impossible....so I gave it a meaningless title
Great design and complications!👏🏻

And calculation seems to be very balanced: Approximately 1K for each part of the movement 😜 Beautiful piece and a very smart introduction and launch with only watch! Well done! Tempus

My initial thoughts..
By: ChristianDK : November 14th, 2019-13:46
after having just seen the pictures a few hours ago... I think this looks better than the Bleu. I think the dial and the added complexity from the smaller apertures are more well defined. Also the toning down from the grey helps. It is a big and fairly co...
Thanks for posting this Christian! Now I know why my post disappeared ;)

I was fortunate to see and play around with this version in NYC last month. I definitely like this version better than the Only Watch one. It's super clean and will go well with different strap colors.... I like how it's super under the radar too.
thanks for chiming in, Alex :-) :-)

Super interesting to hear your impression on this one and that you prefer it as well. It is such a strong design. I will start to save up for the autumn next year. did you see them side by side?
I don‘t mean to spoil the party but...
By: mrds : November 15th, 2019-13:30
this one leaves me remarkably cold. I do acknowledge the technical ingenuity and craftmanship which are as outstanding as in any other Journe. But I struggle to grasp the concept. Why add a minute repeater to a watch dedicated to astronomocal complication...
Daniel, I think you pose a very good and valid question!
By: ChristianDK : November 15th, 2019-14:09
I have struggled with my understanding of the concept as well. I would like to elaborate my thoughts in a longer post, so I will get back to you (and others) hopefully tomorrow. Right now I’m entertaining a group of guests from Spain over the weekend. I’l...
as promised, a few thoughts..
By: ChristianDK : November 17th, 2019-14:58
Dear Daniel and others taking part in this thread. Sorry for my late reply. I have discovered over the weekend that Spanish people like to go to bed VERY late!! ;-) As I said, I appreciate Daniels post, because it creates an opportunity for us Journe afic...
I agree, the A.S. is his Grandest of Grand Complications
By: IndieFan : November 18th, 2019-16:29
I firmly believe this was Mr Journe simply showing the world exactly what he was able to create in the one watch. That said, the Sonnerie for me is "more" Journe, and I prefer its simplicity of wind and wear, as well as its better dimensions and the fact ...
For me personally, I agree ..
By: ChristianDK : November 19th, 2019-10:37
I much prefer ONE complication being unfolded rather than stacking up several. (Or no complication) I have found out that many FPJ collectors have this trait in commen. I can certainly relate to your preference for the larger “right side” dial. I have jus...
My take on the AS
By: mrds : November 19th, 2019-23:40
Dear Christian, thank you very much for your thoughts and opinions. It took me a while to reflect on the AS to come up with my thoughts on it. Let me start by explaining why I reacted to this piece. First, it definitely is a statement piece, a chef-d'oevr...
Thank you for your well considered reply, Daniel
By: ChristianDK : November 20th, 2019-12:38
I really appreciate your thoughts and voice in the discussion of the Astronomic. Like me, you seem to be a bit of a purist in your thinking. Appreciating a clearly thought and executed concept, (the intellectual watch you describe very well.) I have to sa...
Thank you both!
By: IndieFan : November 20th, 2019-14:39
Daniel, I do agree with your purist approach, which is part of the reason I prefer the Sonnerie for its purity and watchmaking pinnacle. Your thoughts on the AS were very well articulated and your "dream" version makes a lot of sense to me as well. I do a...

Adding the Journe Sonnerie to the PP Celestial will make a pretty good AS! Best, Daniel PS Not a bad Patek at all for a fan of Independents, I must add!!
Yes, it would ;)
By: IndieFan : November 21st, 2019-16:03
This simple V complicated watch is an interesting discussion as there are examples in other brands, and each time I'm drawn more to the simple version... for example, my Patek 5102 versus the Patek 6102... the 6102 adds a date complication, which to me, s...
Oh, WOW!
By: ChristianDK : November 21st, 2019-00:37
This is really an extraordinary watch. Definately in the upper echelon! I suppose one could say that PP are independent as well ;-) Great that you have come on board 😊👌
Points well taken, dear Christian!
By: mrds : November 20th, 2019-22:07
Your comments on the AS and background info allowed me to better understand both the watch and my reaction to it. Thanks a lot for that. I hope you‘ll soon be able to experience this beast on your wrist! Have a great day! Daniel
Why not?
By: IndieFan : November 15th, 2019-15:02
I understand your viewpoint but for me, this is more about Journe, the man, showing the world exactly what he can do. Perhaps this will be his last "grand complication" piece, so it was his chance to show the watch world that yes, he can make a very compl...
I see where you’re coming from, Indiefan.
By: mrds : November 16th, 2019-05:24
I definitely have huge admiration for Journe to create this watch, which, without any doubt, is a masterpiece. My comment is about my reaction to it. There are many FPJs, simple and complicated, that really make me sing. Not this one. Maybe also it will n...
this is also the understanding I got.

Please see my response above to mrds. Its very cool to hear your first impressions of the piece. I really get the feeling that it grew on me when I saw the picture of the regular version.

By: dustin.wu : November 20th, 2019-10:26
I don’t like it until I hold it. I saw it yesterday in the boutique. Prototype. Yes it seems strange and not practical to have so many functions into one watch and some are not related to each other. But my personal thought is , a brand need something to ...
great input Dustin
By: ChristianDK : November 20th, 2019-12:51
Everyone I have heard from so far, who have encountered the piece, say it is - and it looks fantastic. I know all to well, not judge from pictures and so I really look forward to seeing the piece! My expectaions are really growing every time I hear about ...

I cant wait to handle this baby!!
Journe is genius and no doubts about it.
By: Tsoroev Rashid : November 26th, 2019-23:37
I always said that Journe is genius and for me he is always will be among Breguet, Daniels and another great watchmakers. I think only genius can create such complicated watch without any correctors, pushers etc. This watch like a most of Journes watches ...
