I've always really liked this piece. The quirkiness is very much FPJ.

Dear fellow Purists, Aside from my perennial obsession with the Resonance in 38mm, I am fascinated since 2014 with the Byblos version of the CB. What is your take on this piece? A brilliant LE? A standout open dial for FPJ? Too bling or ostentatious? Let ...

Very true.

Actually it's astonishing that FPJ never made a skeleton watch (hope I'm correct about this) given his gorgeous gold movements and high standards of finishing. A future project, maybe? Thanks for your comments, Watchonthewrist!
The standard Chronomètre Bleu is a true marvel...

...but to me, the Byblos version is an entirely different watch. In terms of design and feel, it has nothing to do with the standard CB, although of course it uses most of the CB as its base. Happy Sunday, fourtaelsgold.
It is super quirky....

but I like that. It is certainly not your first or second Journe and certainly also a watch for a special mood. I think you may need to know the FPJ universe quite well to appreciate the details. When all that said, it does tickle me without any objection...
Quirky, but in a very stylish way!

Hi Christian, Actually it WOULD be my first FPJ. Always been following and admiring Journe, but so far none of his wonderful creations in my humble collection. True, the Byblos would be a strange choice for first FPJ, but it just keeps its allure... Cheer...
In short; don’t like it.

I just don’t think the dial works; the cut out is odd to me. In saying that I have no idea how it could be executed such that it would not look odd to me and for others this may be the coolest dial ever. The blue dial is also something you need to really ...
Thanks Jay. You raise fair points here.

Definitely the Byblos can't be a daily wearer as the standard CB is (in an excuisite way). To me, the Byblos and the standard CB as just very different watches, each with a different purpose. I also agree with your point about the cutout shape. This is a ...
Very different indeed, but this difference is only the because of the dial.

If one likes the CB on the wrist then this one will work too. Re the dial, it’s not simply the shape of the cut-out, it’s what it reveals (nothing interesting really, and a lot of gold). Thinking some more about it, and remembering it on the wrist, it may...
Love it [nt]

Certainly a striking piece

I would not mind borrowing one for a few days But not to my taste - shape of the cut out mostly: it looks like a bracelet of pearl hangs around the dial
I love it!

F.P. Journe movements are art masterpieces. So this “dial” makes the movement the canvas with those several finishes. Also the cut out has the form of a flower, so it feels organic. I would mind using it everyday! Best. René

I‘m so tempted!

Need to try it on soon. I‘m still torn between this special piece and a Gen 1 Resonance. Thanks for looking, Mohannad! Daniel
