I have to say, this way of winding the Resonance not only sounds fancy, it seems to be more efficient indeed! As you stated, the point is not to let the crown snap back. In my observation, it took less time to achieve full power reserve. It’s merits with regard to callus prevention still need to be proved though. But, less winding should also mean less callus, yeah!!! Thanks for your insights, Andreas!
The only downside being the „Show your thumb as proof of Resonance ownership“ approach didn’t pass the reality check....

Even after having them serviced, the crown was still tough to wind.

PS I just saw how tiny the crown is, no doubt that’s the effect on a finger😇😀
No worries! Winding this watch translates into joy, believe it or not...
This is an issue special to the Resonance. No other FPJ model (maybe not even any other watch in the world) has this distinctive crown at this position. Winding is needed every day. If you understand the Resonance and the underlying principle, the process...

Won't be an issue any more next year
Perhaps the 12 o'clock winding crown won't be there in the new Resonance next year, so it will be a unique experience for past and present Resonance pieces. Enjoy it while it lasts

Do you take the strap off to wind? I assume you do.
Funny, I don’t have as much an issue with mine (the strap always comes off to wind, which is easy with the quick release spring bars). Perhaps because mine is not a daily wearer I don’t run into this issue.
That’s a good point, Jay. But I always wind with the strap on as I use an old style one w/o the quick release.
But even with a new style strap I‘d rather not take it off for winding. ZERO SNAP BACK method in combination with a piece of cloth as a „thumpguard“ maybe is the silver bullet for winding our Resonances? Cheers Uri
