Salmon strap from Jean Rousseau

I'm not a big fan of the stock black strap, so I wanted to get something a little more casual since that's how I typically dress with this watch.  I went with this lovely salmon strap from Jean Rousseau.  It's a touch more blue than the photos make it look.  The black plays well with the numerals and indices, the white with the dial, and the blue with the beautiful hands.  It's quite stiff but will naturally soften over time.

Word of caution - the leather is much thicker than the stock Journe strap (see photo) which caused significant problems getting the strap to attach.  It took me multiple attempts and lots of pushing to get the spring bars to seat securely into the holes in the lugs (not to mention lots of scratches to the inner surfaces of the lugs in the process).  I had to press on the strap to flatten it out enough so it would finally attach.  I don't know if anyone else has had this problem with aftermarket straps, but if you buy this particular strap, I would be sure to ask them to take this into account when they make it.

It was really stupid of me to scratch it up like that. I think I even damaged the inner front lip of the bottom right lug in the process. I will probably need to get if fixed now. I let my contact at Jean Rousseau know I wasn't happy with the way the stra...

Thank you FabR

It's an expensive lesson. My one friend said it's like putting a dent in your car - it really pisses you off at first but then you learn to live with it. It's a first world problem, of course.

Well done!

It's definitely nonconventional but it works with a lot of my attire as well as my style sensibilities (or lack thereof). Also, please chime in if you don't like it - it's nice to hear style critiques (funny or otherwise) from someone other than my wife!

looks absolutely fantastic
