No right or wrong answer here ...
I think the answer to this depends on the stage of ones collecting and what feels right at that time.
Bill has had the experience of owning many fine watches and was psychologically ready to consolidate to the Roth tourbillon.
I myself am enjoying owning a range of watches, but do expect to consolidate down to a smaller number of key watches at a future point. Just when that time will come I am not certain, but I expect to be comfortable with that decision and that is how I will know the time is right.

Quality definitely beats quantity in this case. Irrespective of the relative merits of each watch, I would always prefer to have one or two that are the best representatives of a group rather than multiple that give the breadth of a group but not the apog...
