The auction was amazing. Didn't even have a chance to bid as price just soars pass my budget. lol

And one of the top results for any Journe at auction period.

I wonder if the fact that it was a very early production (c.2000) drove the price so high. It would make sense from a collector perspective, to want the earliest possible piece. However, the dial did not seem the most desirable in terms of how it aged and... 

one at near $300k and another one at above $400k. Anything from year 1999 tourbillon to year 2000 Resonance are ultra hot.

I am a little surprised at this price point.

We don’t see many Indies reach these levels, especially considering that this is not a traditional grand complication, piece unique etc. Personally I think this reinforces what I always believed regarding the Resonance; that it is THE signature Journe. (A...

This was the record breaking piece that sold just so you can take a closer look at the patina etc. And here was the result without the premium (SOLD to a bidder on the phone)... ...  

Almost 3 to 4 months earlier I was offered the same config from 2000 at half the price... World is crazier than we imagine!

Hopefully boosts prestige and demand for the brand. Not the greatest thing for watch buyers and watchpros. Although, anything that keeps FPJ afloat and independent is good. LF, De Bethune, Lang and Heyne, and others are struggling, so it is nice to see FP... 

FPJ is truly a living legend. I'm staring at the Prototype Octa in the coming auction. It will break new record for Octa.

I am planning to bid on this but I was told the private action on this piece is already blowing up high... a new record is coming and I'm certain I will not be able to get it.

I’m not surprised if there is someone ready to fight for it though. How far do you think it will go? Above 100? It’s possible!

I’m sure the Resonance in HK will boost it even further.

The wg 37mm dufour simplicity went for about the same amount at 2,062,500HKD. Crazy!!!

It doesn’t reflect a general market price for this watch.

Auctions are funny places, often unusual results. The amounts of times I’ve kicked myself for not being up when HK was live and missing great pieces at really low prices!

I kinda made a very radical decision about the fate of my Journe Tourbillon. It will be an experiment :P I won't be posting the watch here anymore due to the rule (which makes total sense) but if the experiment succeeds, I will share the process here one ...

We can be fairly certain these are watches going one direction in terms of demand and pricing. Replacement cost will be painful to swallow if it comes to that.
