From Cartier with love !

I don’t own a Cartier (even though I believe one is a must have in any broad collection).  This watch however, the Vagabondage, or more accurately the origin of the Vagabondage series, does it is rumored have a strong Cartier connection.

There are several aspects of this watch which I really love.  The smoked crystal for one, the infamous “crooked Christmas tree of the main plate you see on the dial, but most of all it’s the simple choice of the brushed bezel and polished lugs, flanks etc.  That decision makes the piece (in Rose Gold at least) just that little bit more casual and therefore more wearable.

I love the Victorian Old Curiosity Shop style…definitely a Christmas watch…

Of the three watches which make up the series I think the first and second (this one) have that style.

The third watch moves away a little from that, it’s a much more contemporary style. My preference is for the first and second of the series.

In my view; the vagabondage series captures Journe’s whimsical nature to its fullest!

Each of the 3 incarnations all very distinct in their complication and implementation.

I can't speak for the world but my personal preference is for II.

The III is in my opinion less coherent, more about solving the technical challenge of jumping seconds than the watch as a whole.

I agree. I did think about buying the III and spent time with one on several occasions before concluding to pass on it.

The reason for me was I just thought it was distracting, after the immediate novelty of the jumping seconds it was just too busy (distracting) for me.

For sure. It caught me early, which is unusual for Journe for me.

I always thought of it as a bit of sleeper, and I think even now it’s still that. There are twice as many of these out there (both metals) than my Titanium Centigraphe Sport yet everyone knows the Centigraphe Sport. Yet many people, even those that pay at...

Such a gorgeous and amazing FPJ

This is one I love for sure. Although I seem to say that about them all ! I would like to wear it more but it’s been since the beginning more of a “special day” watch. Some pieces just naturally fall into that category. Enjoy the weekend.

Cheers.
