F.P. Journe

Buying second-hand Journe from private seller.

My sincere apologies that my only two posts in the Journe forum are about soliciting advice, but buying FPJ pieces from boutiques/ADs is hard to achieve, and this remains such a wonderful forum where fellow collectors help each other

I have a few questions that I’d like to solicit responses/advice for
1. Are the FP Journe manufacturer warranties (especially the 3rd year warranty extension for registering the watch online) transferrable?
2. What would be a situation in which a new watch is delivered without the small accompanying parts (polishing cloth, leather wallet for warranty card, USB key)? Do AD’s frequently run out of these things?
3. Has FP Journe moved away from providing the large square box with cushion to the rectangular flat travel case?

I located an example of what I’m looking for (Platinum Chronometre Souverain) from a local collector who is selling to make way for something else. The watch itself is in good condition. It’s a single owner piece (he’s the original buyer) and he has it under warranty for another 14 months (with an email from Journe confirming that he’s the original buyer and the warranty extension). However, it comes on the smaller rectangular travel case, and without the leather wallet or USB key or polishing cloth. The warranty card is dated and has an inscription of the AD (not a boutique) but the stamp is smudged (which happens).

This will be my second second-hand watch purchase in my collecting career, and the first one ended up leaving a bad taste bc the seller (a professional dealer) photoshopped the watch ad to hide scratches

Am I just being too neurotic/picky? I’m paying above retail, and I am not independently-wealthy, so I like my luxury items to be as complete-package as possible?

What would you do?

How the watch is being offered?

Thanks again

Hussam
