Chronometre Optimum movement. A picture from the watchmakers bench during assembly.

I absolutely adore this movement. Double barrel, remontoir d’egalite, and FPs own take on the natural escapement. This watch is often in my mind these days. ...

It is quite a mechanical marvel.

It was an idea that came from one of Mr Journe friends asking what watch he would design for himself. His answer was something simple on the dial side but the movement should utilize all the ingredients for optimal chronometric performance: lots of power ...

Coz the boutique manager brought out the last resonance available so i fell for that one haha i don’t regret it tho coz the resonance is a beauty but the optimum will join in the future !

Yummy [nt]

Your favorite?

I know, it’s not a fair question...

The options are too great.

Chronometre Optimum or Resonance?

Both movements are beautiful. Both are Journe's at their best. Love this movement very much.

I agree, my friend both

And I also want to add the 1304 caliber. I think it is ingenious in it’s simple but beautiful design but with a stellar Chronometre performance.

Yes, true. All good things must come to an end some day ;-)

It hasn’t run that long yet. I wonder if he will do a face lift like he just did with the perpetual. It is difficult to imagine a change to the caliber. But then, I’m not a watch maker.

Exactly. And I want to add..

FP is a master of coming up with the unexpected, unlike so many other brands these days. I suspect that the obvious is the first to be discarded as he wants to contribute with something new. I think that is an important attraction to his work.

100%. [nt]

guess

It could be basically 2 optimums in resonance i think

One of my favourites...

I need to take some more photos and share... the CO is an amazing piece and I too love the movement. An incredible FPJ!

Oh, yes! I hope you will.

We need to see it much more.
