I finally did it!!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-00:42
Two things happened for the first time last week while I was in Geneva. After more than a dozen visits to my favourite city, I finally bought myself a watch and it was my first ever FP Journe. I had made it a point to only visit three boutiques while I wa...

Huge Congrats my friend, a absolute beautiful watch and def one i am still trying to add soon .

Its a amazing watch and a perfect daily imho . Wear it in best of health

Thank you very much my friend!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-02:07
I have actually caught on your fever and bought myself a salmon dial watch 3 days ago!! I know, I know - that is my fifth stainless steel watch in 5 months and my 4th in 6 weeks!!! But it is a special piece and I shall post it next week. Thoughts of you l...

You make me very curious my friend 😉

 By: Watchonthewrists : February 5th, 2020-13:40
Really looking forward to see your (again) next new purchase ( i have an idea🤔but not sure yet ) . Your really on fire 😁.

I have never bought so many watches

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-13:47
in such a short space of time but I love them all and like to think that they are all keepers! Time will tell. But the salmon dial piece needs to be in your collection somehow!!

Million congrats

 By: Jurry : February 5th, 2020-01:25
Beautiful watch. And to offer some comfort: we all suffer from that same mad disease you mentioned. It’s interesting to see such a brand using quartz in a model like this.

That is a lot of congrats!! :-)

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-02:10
And a million 'you are most welcome' to you! It was nice to see FPJ venturing into the non mechanical segment but in typical FPJ style, it is quite unique as the watch stops when not used but adjusts itself to the correct time when moved again! Very cleve...

Hermes

 By: Jurry : February 5th, 2020-04:30
Almost like that complication on the Hermès Temps Suspendu although Hermès had a different, more romantic, purpose for this complication in mind. Haha

Exactly!!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-04:57
I always wonder to myself if anyone owning that Hermes ever used it for that purpose!!

Congrats!

This line of watches is getting traction, and at a very rapid pace. I just think that’s it extremely ironic for a community called PuristPro to adopt a quartz watch so wholeheartedly. But, after handling my friends 48mm, I can see why. Btw: I did the same...

The M.A.D Gallery is a place one must visit

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-02:14
when one is in Geneva as is the Patek museum. I was most sad to hear that the were robbed again two weeks ago, the second over the past year. And this happened in one of the safest cities in the world. I suspect a watch collector since most of the items a...

Well done!!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-04:06
I guess you could also have ended up with the Perpetual Calendar!!

congratulations

 By: Weems@8 : February 5th, 2020-13:40
It must be an intense experience to get your first F.P. Journe. Quartz is not that bad. I have also a quartz watch on my list, but it not a hurry up watch. It is not a money related choice, but a watch love related choice. I want a Longines Conquest V.H.P...

You are lucky!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-13:50
Your wrist can get away with an Octa Sport. I tried years ago but failed. Thanks for your reply and all the best with the VHP, one of the best quartz watches out there. Have you ever considered a Grand Seiko?! They apparently make superb quartz watches wh...

GS

 By: Weems@8 : February 5th, 2020-13:58
I never tried a GS. i have a Seiko, but that is no GS. About F.P. Journe. It depends on which is first to my collection, a F.P. Journe or an Ulysse Nardin? Honestly, Ulysse Nardin is affordable for me. ...

Nice Seiko!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-14:05
But you should really try a Grand Seiko one day as they make superb watches. As for the Ulysse Nardin v FP Journe, my advice would be buy the watch that you like more rather than which is more affordable. Sometimes, it is worth saving up and waiting a lit...

Thanks Will!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-02:46
Yours looks great too!! This must be the most popular quartz watch on watchprosite!

huge congratulations Sham....

 By: mahesh : February 5th, 2020-02:38
it fits you well & i think Elegante is a compelling offer from FPJ ! Best, mahesh.,

Thanks Mahesh!!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-02:47
I would not normally consider a non mechanical piece but I love the dial and case shape. The special movement is a bonus!

Grats!

 By: Kid : February 5th, 2020-05:27
Seems like you are on a roll lately! The 40mm elegante is really really nice for small wrist, so I'd say great choice (as was the 7234a). In fact, in the current Journe lineup of 40mm+ diameter watches, I don't think there's any better choice than that.

Thank you so much for your kind words!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-06:01
Yes I would have considered a 38mm Journe when they were still available and I find it quite remarkable that they had sold very few 38mm watches when they were being produced hence their discontinuation.

Congrats! Mine says hi as well.

 By: cmmnsens : February 5th, 2020-06:08
...

Thank you!!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-06:41
I saw your strap at the boutique and I was not brave enough to buy it!! So being old and conservative, I went for a dark blue strap that matches the colour of the hands! But your strap is very striking!

Congrats! This is the only haute horology quartz I'd consider.

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : February 5th, 2020-06:45
Very wearable!

I totally agree!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-06:50
If it was a mechanical watch, I believe the waiting list would be as long as the Bleu!

Congratulations Sham! You are on quite a roll here lately!

Fantastic looking piece that I’m very sure you’ll get plenty of enjoyment from.

Thank you very much for your generous comments.

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-07:23
When one says one is on a roll, it is normally when one is winning at a casino! This roll that I am on must stop but yet I am contemplating dropping by at Basel which can only spell danger!!

Huge congratulations, my friend.

 By: ChristianDK : February 5th, 2020-08:36
I think the size is perfect on your wrist. Good thing you didn’t go smaller, judging from your wrist shot. I wouldn’t have guessed you where interested in this one, although I know you have great taste in watches. However, I’m sure this will fit in great,...

Thanks Christian for your feedback!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-09:15
I must confess I have a weakness for torneau shaped watches. The fact that the Elegante is the most affordable Journe and the one I happen to like the most is most convenient!

Me too

 By: ChristianDK : February 5th, 2020-10:45
The flat profile is so beautiful. Here is an other one I love. Vagabondage 1 ...

That is a great watch Christian!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-10:49
Way out of my budget though I think

Congrats Sham! [nt]

Thanks Patrick!

Hope you are doing well.

Congratulations!

 By: NML77 : February 5th, 2020-12:27
It looks great! I think that you will really enjoy this watch Best

Thank you very much!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-12:30
I have been and I certainly hope it is a keeper!

Just so so! Could be better. My 48 Titalyt on a bright blue rubber strap says hello!

 By: patrick_y : February 5th, 2020-18:56
You going to be in London anytime soon?

Actually Patrick

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-23:30
I have been in London now for more than 3 weeks and will leave tomorrow. Trying to sell my flat but the coronovirus is not helping! I was here in November and December too,

Thank you so much!!

 By: sham1 : February 5th, 2020-23:33
It must be the most difficult quartz watch to source as there is no FPJ AD in Malaysia and most of the Elegantes sold at the London AD have diamonds on them.

I think the diamond version will appeal to certain markets

 By: sham1 : February 6th, 2020-13:10
but I prefer my watches a bit more classic looking and understated. Thank you for your feedback!

Congrats again Sham! 😊

 By: JTCL : February 6th, 2020-09:05
Another winner. I am a big admirer of FPJ as well and personally I think this watch offers something very different to any other high end watch. The usability, innovation as well as FPJ characteristics make this a fantastic watch for me. Enjoy!

Thanks so much for saying so!

 By: sham1 : February 6th, 2020-13:12
I aim to enjoy this watch often especially the rubber strap is great for a humid tropical country like Malaysia.

You’re going to have to go back to work.

 By: TheMadDruid : February 6th, 2020-09:59
You realize that, right?

Not a chance Mike!

 By: sham1 : February 6th, 2020-13:13
I am way too lazy and comfortable being retired and unemployed!!

Congrats Shan

 By: gcsk76 : February 6th, 2020-18:51
Very fruitful trip 40 fits you well. Did you get additional colour straps to match your feeling of the day?

Thanks SK!

 By: sham1 : February 6th, 2020-23:52
I must confess O never actually thought of getting another strap (unlike a mutual friend of ours) as I like the dark blue strap more than any other on offer. I am a boring creature of habit!!
