Two pictures showing this Octa UTC with its two faces. One I like: One which is less my taste, as I would have much preferred a manual winding one. What do you think? Nicolas ...

Both sides are great to my taste.

But IMHO dial could easily do without date window. JK

+1 on the date. [nt]

Date Window 😮 [nt]

On the other hand

the dial window implements a counterbalance. For me the dial would have been less balanced without the date. Best Thomas

You’re right. But guilloched finishing on the off centerer rotor...

Makes you forgive it somehow. Pics of the Octa Divine when I was deeply in love. ...

Do you still have it?

 By: ChristianDK : October 22nd, 2019-12:28
We dont get to see a lot of Divine here.

Yes I do Chtistian. And I still love it!

I just found these 4 year old shots and I suddenly remembered how I was almost hypnotised into it and trying to get some macros with a moments lense.

I love the layered dial of the Divine

What diameter is it? I hope you will post it here. Best Christian

It'a 38 mm from 2008

 By: jlc.thomsen : October 23rd, 2019-11:35
 ...

Very nice!

 By: ChristianDK : October 23rd, 2019-13:45
As I said, I love the layers and all the screws on the dial

I really love the relatively flat proportions of FPJ

Some people swear by the 38 case. My wrist is quite big so I actually prefer 40 of the manual winders. But the Octa that extra mm with the 38 is just so beautiful in my eyes.

Not bad! [nt]

Thank you! The UTC is a really nice watch Nico. I completely forgot about it.

I don’r really agree with Christian’s comments on the clutter. Somehow FP and his friends in Geneva manage to add a lot to the dial without ever being cluttered. One of the subtile secrets for that is using the same font for all indications also the big d...

When it comes to Travel Watches, this one is my dream.

 By: amanico : October 23rd, 2019-10:43
And this one, my reality. I cannot complain! ...

Yes by far the absolute PP travel time.

 By: jlc.thomsen : October 23rd, 2019-12:23
You simply cannot have a PP travel time without the crown guards ( or flanks)-basta!

What I think, too. [nt]

 By: amanico : October 23rd, 2019-13:38

I think Im the other way around

 By: ChristianDK : October 22nd, 2019-12:23
I always struggled a bit with the dial of this one. For my taste, there are too many elements at play. The OCTA movement I love, however. It is a stellar performer and not bad looking for an Automatic. Great pictures, my friend!

Merci, Christian! [nt]
