"mental capacity"

May 30, 2019,12:20 PM

In your OP, you accused FPJ of doing something similar to releasing a limited edition and then breaking the 'limited edition promise'. There is no reading between the lines.
At this point it should be abundantly clear, even to you, that:
1) There was never a limited edition or indication from manufacture of a limited edition; and furthermore
2) There were never even two versions of the 2019 resonance.
Yet somehow you are the one making barbs about "mental capacity". OK.

the last version of the Chronometre A Souveraine

 By: ChristianDK : May 27th, 2019-11:25
I particularly love the the blue print on the dial in this dial. What is your opinion on this version? ...

I think this virgin is the best virgin of this watch.

 By: TheMadDruid : May 27th, 2019-11:33
Absolutely. I like this watch with a 24 hour dial; and this one is so much more legible than the digital virgin from a couple years ago. The blue print is a nice touch. It could be improved with a different color for the dial. But a terrific virgin.

Virgin??! ;-) LOL

 By: ChristianDK : May 27th, 2019-11:59
I also prefer it to the "gasmeter" . Do you prefer the 24 to the original symmetric?

I prefer the 24 hours.

 By: TheMadDruid : May 27th, 2019-12:47
We can call it the Delft. See below.

Is this the final final version or the one before the final final version?

 By: Boron : May 27th, 2019-11:47
As far as I can tell, the final version widely reported last year, before the first new version appears next year (2020), had black print on the dials. Most of us will recall the flak LF got for making a numbered LE model (12 pieces?) only to roll out an ...

This is the final version

 By: ChristianDK : May 27th, 2019-12:03
announced end of 2018 and only produced throughout 2019. there is no other last version or limited edition. Only with blue print. the black print was on the previous 12h/12h dial. thanks for chiming in.

Delft? [nt]

 By: TheMadDruid : May 27th, 2019-12:46

Haha - Delft Blue. [nt]

 By: ChristianDK : May 27th, 2019-12:52

Interestingly I thought for a minute I had been misspelling and mispronouncing this word for years after seeing this post.

 By: Jay (Eire) : May 27th, 2019-13:24
However, the inter web reassured me that where I grew up the word was “delf”. Haha.

not LE

 By: avseg : May 30th, 2019-00:44
This is not a limited edition - it is the 2019 edition. There is no version with black print.

I wasn’t suggesting that this was a limited edition...

 By: Boron : May 30th, 2019-03:52
but thought it was running alongside the regular black printed ones which ABTW, and others, had chosen to use images of as part of their reporting. Even his own website still shows that version... is it any wonder there’s the potential for confusion?!

there's no LE, period

 By: avseg : May 30th, 2019-04:19
The point is that there is no limited edition of this Resonance version - so there is no comparison with the accusations you make in your OP. This was never promised as a LE, either in official documentation or to buyers. There is only a 2019 edition, ref...

And again I reiterate,

 By: Boron : May 30th, 2019-06:14
there was never any suggestion that this version was a LE, so please stop reading between the bloody lines! If you’re lacking the mental capacity to comprehend what I wrote, then just say so, and I’ll spell it out for you, so that it’s crystal clear. Now,...

Not a fan of this one, I think I’ve stated that here before.

 By: Jay (Eire) : May 27th, 2019-13:19
The blue doesn’t work for me. The 24hr doesn’t work either, too close not to be the same. The previous “Parking Meter” dial, which I know wasn’t widely appreciated, at least was showing something completely different. And, wasn’t FP always adamant that th...

I promise I will interrogate thoroughly 😂

 By: ChristianDK : May 27th, 2019-23:09
I felt the same in the beginning, but I’m warming up to it. Reg. Silicon- are you thinking of the news with Firehouse?

Ill see what I can do, Jay.

 By: ChristianDK : May 29th, 2019-04:12
I was a bit surprised also. So far - I only see that they have they have tested a hairspring in a CB.

resonance always have a place in my heart...the only thing that irks me is the difference between the 2 dials.

 By: mahesh : May 27th, 2019-13:32
both as 12h or 24h would have been good for me. Best, mahesh.,

+1 [nt]

 By: mahesh : May 28th, 2019-01:42

Agreed! [nt]

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : May 27th, 2019-19:38

agree

 By: avseg : May 30th, 2019-12:21
Honestly, I think it's the best part of the watch. Even more stunning in person also IMO.

I have seen this version in metal...

 By: CL : May 27th, 2019-14:34
and I would say that it is really attractive on the wrist. It is more contemporary than the early version. I would choose gold dial for the early version and gray or black dial for this final version.

I really like it!

 By: NML77 : May 27th, 2019-15:55
To me it looks incredible in person. It is a tough choice between this and the original layout but I find the 24 hour dial to be more useful.

That’s it. There are different ways to approach this watch

 By: ChristianDK : May 27th, 2019-23:50
For me, it’s about the concept of Resonance that is the important attraction of this beauty. I feel that is emphasized in the symmetry. Besides, If I was someone traveling a lot outside my local time, perhaps that would be my focus of attention.

Yes, it is very appealing on the wrist

 By: ChristianDK : May 27th, 2019-23:44
I also find it a bit more legible with this new dial.

Really beautiful...

 By: Goh : May 27th, 2019-16:59
and a nice swan song for Resonance. But I still prefer my 1st version: Cheers, Goh ...

Uuuh, nice watch, Goh!

 By: ChristianDK : May 27th, 2019-23:51
Ruthenium or Black Label?

Thanks, Christian.

 By: Goh : May 28th, 2019-04:21
It is Black Label.

A beauty. [nt]

 By: Jay (Eire) : May 28th, 2019-04:05

Black label is not a fair watch for comparison...

 By: CL : May 28th, 2019-07:59
Black label skews every opinion one sided :P Gorgeous piece !!!

Beautiful and very versatile . [nt]

 By: Watchonthewrists : May 28th, 2019-01:01

Very nice send off

 By: colton_d : May 28th, 2019-08:47
I would pursue it if I were looking to complete a set of the Resonance generations, however would opt for the original if it were to be my only foray into the Resonance family. This is a very nice sendoff for the movement, and find the blue font to be par...

I think the biggest problem with the Resonance is that its first version was. Just. Perfect!

 By: mrds : May 28th, 2019-15:28
Imho, there is nothing to improve on the original take. Functionality, symmetry of the dial corresponds to symmetry of the movement and the concept. With this 2019 version, I think the 24h vs 12h dials disturb the idea of the Resonance, and the blue print...

I do prefer the original dial layout......

 By: Greenwillow : May 29th, 2019-05:00
However, I can fully see the practicality if you do a lot of travelling. Beautiful photo Christian.

Thank you 😊 [nt]

 By: ChristianDK : June 4th, 2019-14:30

Agree it was perfect

 By: ChristianDK : June 4th, 2019-14:29
I guess it was tempting to play with the concept just for variations sake and just pumping these out year after year. I think the “ gas meter” has a charming quirkiness even though I have a difficult time reading it. Thanks for chiming in
