It's the same thickness as the original FM...
...and in fact, the case is the same size all the way around. The quartz movement is probably swimming around inside it ;-).
Just goes to show...
..that one should probably handle a watch before casting judgement. One of the above shots just made it look as ridiculously thick....and yes, would love to see the spacer around the quartz module :-)
Now that you say it...
When I had the two side-by-side, the thickness did look identical but the new pushers are so much larger than the FM's that I wonder if the new proportion makes it appear thicker...
FM : 14.65mm vs Z-33 : 19.85mm
According to the late great Chuck the FM was 14.65mm (#Omega_Flightmaster - He had the Mark III at 15.9mm.) and according to Omega the Z-33 is 19.85mm so that's a lot thicker, 36% thicker !
