VC Malte Dual Time Regulateur

Hi guys,

Need help in identifying a watch and market value.
I recently stumbled upon a older model of the VC Malte Dual Time Regulateur (42005/732991).
It's difference with the current one is "no date", instead it gets a seconds counter at 6 oclock.

Questions:
(1) It's quite a hassle to collect the watch, so can anybody help me verify if it's authentic? Of course, during my deal, we're meeting a watch distributor to authenticate (at my expense) but still I won't want to waste time travelling all the way knowing it's a fake
(2) Anybody know the market value? Because the owner lost both box and papers, so I'm offering him a price which i think is fair but just for reference,I'd like to know wat you guys think is fair value. I've heard from the seller, retail is roughly USD$18k

I'm hoping to take the leap soon, so any quick help/words would be great!
