But it’s the same color.
Terry recently passed away and his wife is selling the car. He was the original owner, 1963 split window, fuel injection, alloy wheels, etc. I met Terry 30-40 years ago, and we talked cars a few times. He was a Naval underseas navigation guy - engineer / scientist. He had a Hummer and a RR Silver Shadow too, plus eventually a motor home.
He didn’t laugh when my Mehari broke down by his house, and he helped me push it to a safe place (ok with 2 guys it was fingertip pushing). I liked him. He drove the Vette to work every day for about 25 years.
RIP Terry.

The long and short is -
Similar to our vintage watches, don't have them polished and I agree. However these rare original vintage Corvettes seem to draw bigger prices at auction with careful restoration, not a Resto Mod rebuild.
Agreed, let's leave it 100% as original as possible.
Am all cool with normal as original restoration, yet at some point all the resto-mod 'upgrades' may leave the world with very few to no 'original' ones. As an example, KTR Motorsports helped for years with the still-tracked (at the time) Ferrari 275 GTB. ...
What a beauty! I couldn't agree more to leave it as original as possible. A rare one-owner like this deserves to be preserved as much as possible and only repair/restore to OEM as needed. Never upgrade.
The value is in the rarity of a matching numbers, original example. A resto mod is the way to go if all you've got is a chassis and body.

He certainly had an interesting life and I’m so pleased to hear that he enjoyed his Corvette with a passion. I just wish that I had been able to meet him and share the passion for cars and life. Such is life !
