The WS theme for the 14th of August will be ‘Fit for purpose’
Whether it’s a diver underwater, a dress watch at black tie... before the advent of Bond style marketing and the rise of the steel sports watch there were times when watches had a more specific purpose (in ways not only Veblenian).
So I would like the theme ‘Fit for purpose’ to show those combinations - watches in the natural environment for their genre.
The WS will start around noon GMT on the 14th of August as usually and run till 17.00 GMT on the 16th.
