Speaking of Calatravas: ref. 2451
As a contrast and complement to my thread dedicated to the new Calatrava 6196P, here's an incredible variant of the ref. 2451, with a steel 31 mm case made by Francois Borgel (FB) and a dial with radium dots and radium-filled leaf hands.
The watch is powered by manual caliber 10-200 (launched in 1946, 10 lines, 18 jewels, 19,800 vph).
A vintage dream? My personal answer is 'yes'!

But it’s compatible with a perfect
placement of the seconds sub-dial and that’s what’s important here, imo.

Surprising a 31mm Patek have that big presence. My 39mm BM Clifton is in, and now it feels very oversized 😎
I would personally never buy such a piece (and for such a price) without having seen it
and knowing the seller. So it would mean going to Rome! Not in my plans right now, unfortunately. Best, Emmanuel

Yes, the beautiful “Calatravone”

31 mm is really small indeed,
but this watch has a lot of presence. So, maybe it works in real life much better than one would think. Best, Emmanuel
