Panerai PAM 36 and PAM 40.
In the Vendome years, my favorite duo was the PAM 36 Marina Militare and the mysterious PAM 40.
Knowing which one came first is a bit like trying to know which one, from the egg or the chicken, came first.
The PAM 40, it seems, was made to test the waters about a Luminor Marina in titanium with a tritium dial, and, like the PAM 36, was part of the " Projetto Slytech ".
Limited to 200 pieces, it was not treated like a Limited Edition: No roll paper, no big box...
The PAM 36 is the PAM 36, the first Vendome Marina Militare, unique with its titanium case, chocolate dial and tritium indices.
I owned both of them, and it was a great pleasure and honor.

If only they had come up with the idea....
of making BOTH of them MMs (587-673 like) the 40 would have had its "day in the sun" as well.
Splitting hairs to decide, but I would opt for the 40.
Love the black dial in titanium! Such a blast to look back on the glory years of this brand. I miss them.
