This is the first EV with real Turbo's ... If Porsche can make a Taycan Turbo, Renault sure can. Times are changing my friend, let's enjoy our petrol cars even more now.
Since many modern petrol or diesel cars already have electric turbo's, why not take one of those electric turbo's to cool the electric motors of an EV .... hihi. So then you can't deny an EV can be equipped with turbos. If it will make any difference to t...
I donโt see a problem with how Renault have approached this modern homage to the Turbo 1 & 2 legacy. Time has moved on this car will be definitely be sitting in my garage as soon as it becomes available. PS โฆ I still love my petrol cars !
Have been seeing the first R5s on the road and they look well done. Maybe time to test drive the A290โฆ Not quite sure how much longer until this one comes outโฆ
They live in another universe even though they're part of Renault. My Renault dealer always complains about the fact Renault is showing off new models and then waits several months to a year to finally bring it into the showrooms. By that time most people...
Itโs then part of the marketing budget ๐คช In spite of everything they will lose a lot less than if it was ICE, as you would really need to use a lot of custom made components there that are a lot more costly.
Is that bonkers versions like this are significantly cheaper to make in comparison to ICE engines ones, which would require drastically more reengineering ๐๐ป
I had several turbos replaced, engine rebuilt and the electrical systems could be problematic. Aluminium doors were a constant concern when using a public car park ๐ฑ
Not even anything near the A290. The carrozeria is carbon fibre, rwd and no fwd. They are going to make 2000 cars only and I already heard rumors of a price around 120.000 โฌ. Probably a zero operation in the best case. Now who am I to talk about finance ....
Not very fond of that 3-pot and apparently it's eager to blow up ;-). Especially if you fiddle with it. IMO the existing Reanult/Alpine 1.8 would be perfect. Pretty reliable (knocking on wood) and more characterful than the GR's engine.
But an unsuitable V6, as it didnโt have a sporting gene in it. The nicest V6 I have experienced so far still remains Hondaโs NSX (the original one, albeit in the 3.2 liter version).
.. about the sales so far. They told me if this would have been a hybrid car it would sell like crazy. But for now intrest is a bit low ... What did we expect honestly ;-) ?
