I can't hold back any more!
I received the Datograph Perpetual WG about the same time as Craig and, like him, have been totally mesmerized by the watch.
The model is not new (see PeterCDE's brilliant post: Under the Hammer: "Datograph Perpetual in the Test Lab" in Oct 2008) - Lange simply changed the metal and some of the appearance and I won't repeat the technical specifications here. The new dial and moonphase, however, have done wonders and added a much more lively dimension to the watch.
The movement is made up of 556 parts, of which 223 are dedicated to the perpetual calendar.
