Happy New Year !
Hoping for a better 2021 for everyone, especially for those for whom 2020 was a struggle for reasons beyond their control.
Many people had their life upended this year as a direct result of COVID, for any of our members (active or lurking) that struggled this year I hope this place provided some distraction and respite.
Today I’ve worn my original, the (mechanical) watch which has been with me the longest and for many years I wore 24/7 (yes, that included sleeping and showering).
On days like these I tend to return to this watch. In many ways it’s my true north, for this world of watches and personally. It reminds me of a simpler time, of home and of the people I grew up with. More than just a watch as they used to say.

A happy new year to you, Jay. 2020 has been a surreal one, needing our true norths now more than ever. Hope ‘21 will be a step towards a semblance of the old normalcy..
I don’t know about the others, but I’m not a big fan of any sort of “new normal”. I’m a dinosaur but a content one at that
I think some changes for some people this year have actually opened eyes to a better balanced life, so hopefully we can carry some of those good changes forward.
But we all need to get back to more social interaction, to be able to see friends and family easily again etc. Happy New Year to you and your family.
