The 3rd of December, we had the chance to attend a cocktail organised by the François-Paul Journe Boutique in Paris. We were warmly welcome by Lucas and his team, Marie-Jo, Maurine and Thomas. The purpose of the cocktail was to present us the latest novelty from François-Paul, the Chronometre Bleu.
In a very few words: I really like this watch.
I like it because the combo between the tantalum case and the chrome blue dial works perfectly. Tantalum is a material which has some blued reflections so you can imagine the nice colors effects it gives to the watch.
I like it because the dial is pure: even if I think that the power reserve indicator is very well integrated on the dial of the CS, without it, the simplicity of the dial reinforces the watch appeal.
The step-aside small second keeps the originality of the CS.
I like it because the case diameter is new located between the two sizes of the CS: 39mm.
I'm not a fan of the 40mm version of the CS. I think that the bezel becomes too thick in this version. Here, the watch is perfectly balanced.
But of course, the most beautiful part of the watch is the dial (if we forget the caliber 1304).
It is very difficult to shoot this watch, to capture the various shades of blue. Sometimes, the dial seems to be very dark, almost black. And sometimes, the blue color becomes obvious.
