It’s nice that the milling in the back is intact. Sometimes accidents happen. I think of this watch as my 1940’s car.
It was made the same year as the Tucker 48, aka Tucker Torpedo. It’s a very sad and infuriating story. There’s a movie about it called Tucker, the man and his dream.

Of the watches from that period my other favorite is the first run of the pre datejust ovettone. I had a chance to buy one with a gorgeous dial in 9k and for the life of me don’t know why I looked down on 9k. Temporary insanity?

It is in excellent shape. I remember when I bought it at a show, the fellow next to me was waiting for me to put it down. I’ve been in his position many times. Glad this one came my way😊
