I do not know these two watches but when I look at your both pictures, except the color of their dials, they are identical no?

But the grand Seiko is a quartz model, supposedly accurate to 10 seconds a year. The Tag is automatic, which means another watch winder. I also have my Grandfathers Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date, circa 1964, but I don't want to over use it for a daily watch...  

What will be the budget for an affordable "office" watch? May be we could find other possibilities ;-)

There are others I have seen, IWC Ingenieur Automatic, Rolex Submariner/GMT Master 2, Rolex Yachtmaster, Omega Aqua Terra...all ranging (including the Tag and Seiko) from 2-7K. (Rolex pre-owned anyway).

May be the Omega but I am not a big fan of the Aqua Terra. I am really sorry :-(

Somewhere near 40mm +/-, stainless steel band. However I saw the Bremont Solo which is 43mm, you can get it with SS band.

I am Seiko-biased, but I can tell you from experience you shouldn\'t have to adjust this watch between daylight saving or battery changes. It\'s tough too. And more elegant but less sporty than the TAG. Perhaps better value as well. Cheers, Cazalea

What\'s your thoughts on the grand Seiko Quartz and its place in a watch collection? I am in New York and have access to the boutique. I saw this model I person, I like it a lot, the white is pretty great, but may wait to see if they come out with more mo...

You should try it on for awhile; it's not an office watch. Diameter 48-49mm x thickness 15mm is Big. And you can compare its hulking weight of 190 grams (6 ounces) to 140 grams to a stainless steel Rolex Daytona on bracelet (4 1/2 ounces) I'd prefer one o...  

I think the Grand Seiko is the best but if you want more name recognition for your watch then the other one would be better. However, I have always had a soft spot for Grand Seiko. Perhaps you could find some vintage watches? They are more affordable. Lik... 

The finishing is in another league, it will go on forever and if quartz, the 9F movement is pretty much the one to have. Atom clock accuracy, too (my SBGX097 has not deviated by more than 0,5 secs since September) If you go for a Carrera, this is IMHO not...

But have seen one with a Bullhead configuration today that looked interesting, the ones are cool and the 01 is also not bad Surely some historic ones would work, too. At any rate, Carrera for me should primarily be a chronograph...
