Nilomis shares his strong interest in the Zenith Pilot Big Date Special 42mm, highlighting its balanced dial, precise minute hand alignment, and the revered El Primero 4010 movement. This post initiates a discussion among collectors about the watch's appeal, wearability, and comparisons to other Zenith models, offering insights into what makes this pilot's watch a desirable piece.

You'll need to see it first. For me, I demand slightly more wrist presence than this one offers. So I would rather opt for the 44mm Rattrapante. For the Pilot Big Date Special, I would prefer the steel mesh strap since I think this watch on the calfskin looks a little preppy. But you know I like bold watches, and I think you certainly have better taste than me. Good luck on the hunt. Dean Picture also taken from the Zenith site:
My wrist is meager and the 44mm is too big for me. About the steel mesh, I love it on somebody's else wrist. I use to tease my friends by saying "Friends don't let friends wear mesh". He he. Let me see it "on metal" but by the pics, I'm just in love. Cheers, Nilo
I agree with Dean, you should wait... To find something in the speed of 18000! ;) Best Blomman
18000! I have something with 18000 bph but is new! Stay tuned. Nilo
Nicolas, If there was a no date version it could be a killer watch. They could write on the case back "By appointment of Lord Vlad"? Cheers, Nilo
