I was browsing the Zenith site, seeing the novelties and a watch (yes, I know that is not a new release) got my attention.

42mm, fits my wrist and I'm a sucker for big date.

Love the very balanced dial with only two sub dials and the hands.
I'm very picky for minute hands that don't hit the minute marks.

Here is a photo from the Zenith site:

It brings clearly the Zenith and airplanes relation and even the strap looks perfect on this model.

As an added bonus, the sub dials don't mask the "9" and "3".

It's powered by a 4010 El Primero. Do I need to say that I love this movement?

Here is a draw of it, without the winding rotor:

Team, I want this watch! Badly!

My search hounds are already released, sniffing for a Pilot Big Date Special or I may wait for a forthcoming trip to pay a visit to a Zenith Boutique.

A plea to Zenith: Please open a Boutique here in Brazil. São Paulo, of course.

Who knows?

Stay tuned.

Cheers,

Nilo

I would wait

You'll need to see it first. For me, I demand slightly more wrist presence than this one offers. So I would rather opt for the 44mm Rattrapante. For the Pilot Big Date Special, I would prefer the steel mesh strap since I think this watch on the calfskin looks a little preppy. But you know I like bold watches, and I think you certainly have better taste than me. Good luck on the hunt. Dean Picture also taken from the Zenith site:

Thank you but ...

My wrist is meager and the 44mm is too big for me. About the steel mesh, I love it on somebody's else wrist. I use to tease my friends by saying "Friends don't let friends wear mesh". He he. Let me see it "on metal" but by the pics, I'm just in love. Cheers, Nilo

I know, I know ... The date ...

Nicolas, If there was a no date version it could be a killer watch. They could write on the case back "By appointment of Lord Vlad"? Cheers, Nilo
