Nono01's original post, playfully titled 'I've promised myself that I would read more on the weekends,' quickly evolved into a fascinating discussion about unique horological and automotive memorabilia. While initially showcasing a striking Breitling Emergency, the thread's true gem became a deep dive into creative ways collectors integrate their passions into their daily lives, particularly through literature and display. This piece highlights how Nono01's simple aspiration sparked a rich exchange among enthusiasts.

Very nice

I like to do a little reading up on Porsche myself once in a while.

Thanks! They are TIG welded

Porsche brake rotors made to be bookends. I then added the caliper to finish off the look. πŸ‘

I did not make them…

Wish I was that handy with a welder, but I cannot take that credit. I bought them from a guy who turned these Porsche parts into these works of art. Not sure if he still makes them but he only makes the bookends which are amazing and then I decided to buy a used caliper and add it onto it to make it look complete. That part, I can take credit for. LOL.

Nice caliper idea!

Calipers are expensive! Even a used one probably cost more than the entire set of bookends! A very good idea indeed!

Thanks!

I was lucky to get a good deal so the caliper cost me less than the bookends! 😁
