AndrewD initiates a compelling discussion on the concept of "value for money" in watch collecting, inviting the community to share which watches in their collections best embody this principle. He emphasizes that this can be interpreted broadly, encompassing any price point and personal definition of value. AndrewD himself highlights the Breguet La Tradition as an example of superb value for its offerings.

Hi All,

I am interested to hear which watch in your collection you feel has provided the greatest value for money. I am not placing any restrictions on this. You can interpret ‘value for money’ in any way you wish and at any price point.

While not cheap as such, I happen to think that the Breguet La Tradition is superbly priced for what it delivers.

There is value for money at all price points, and I am interested to hear why you think certain watches you have purchased deliver in this regard.

Looking forward to your offerings.

Andrew

I guess ALL our watches are value for money, Andrew

Because, if they weren't, we wouldn't include them in our collection, don't you think? Well, here I will only focus on 3 watches which are, TO ME, real value for money: 1/ Without any surprise, the JLC MMR: Not only a great, original watch and a bargain, but also, which is more important for me, I'm madly in love with and it shared my life from almost 2 years now... 2/ The U.N Freak: What can I say? This is the mother of all the concept watches, an UFO in the Horological World, and an unbelievab

Value for money is of course very subjective,but...

...from all the watches in my collection it is this Chopard Luc Twist that gets my vote: The finishing of both the white gold case and the movement (with Geneva seal) is stunning and equal to most of what I have seen from other high-end watch companies. This watch from ,let's say PP, and it becomes 50% more expensive. My personal test for value for money is : would I have purchased the watch IF it would have been 50% more expensive : YES!! With best regards, Gerard.
