AuHavrePro challenges the WatchProSite community to consider a watch's hands as the primary aesthetic draw, prompting a fascinating discussion on horological artistry. His initial post highlights Vacheron Constantin, A. Lange & Söhne, Piaget, Sarpaneva, Laurent Ferrier, and GoS as brands with exceptionally captivating hand designs. This exploration delves into how these intricate components can, for some collectors, become the singular reason to acquire a timepiece.
Nicolas egged me on to follow through with my idea of questioning which watch brands/models have hand designs that are so subjectively spectacular that you would happily buy the watch based on the hand aesthetics itself, notwithstanding of what the remaining components looked or felt like!! I came to the conclusion that, of the traditional brands, I most vividly remembered and 'fantasized' about those found on Vacherons, ALSs, and Piagets.... While in the independent realm, where designs naturally get tangibly more imaginative; Sarpaneva, Laurent Ferrier, and GoS were the ones which left the most striking impression on me.... Show me all of yours!! Cheers, Filip
