In a captivating post, jp884 shares his unexpected acquisition of a Moritz Grossmann Hamatic Vintage, a timepiece that defied his usual preference for casual wear. His detailed photographs and initial impressions highlight the watch's unique aesthetic and the innovative 'egg-shaped' automatic movement. This article explores why this particular dress watch resonated so deeply with a collector who typically favors comfort and athletic attire.

I don’t normally pursue dress watches anymore as my attire lends more towards casual athletic wear. As I am constantly on the move with the kids and I prefer comfort over looks. So I really didn’t see myself adding another dress piece. However, MJ’s pic of the MG hamatic vintage changed all that. I remember falling in love with their tourbillion back in 2009 and really didn’t think about them again until the hamatic vintage pics starting popping up. Although the watch is all around breathtaking, the movement steals the show for me here with the egg shaped rotor and pendulum. Waiting on a blue strap from MG to dress it down a little to wear with my sweatpants and sweatshirt. I take horrible pics so I apologize in advance but the watch really is a show stopper as MJ’s pics have shown. Also wanted to say thanks to my AD for snagging the last one of this edition for me🙏

Thank you for sharing with us!

Don't get to see these beauties every day. In fact, the last time I saw one was in November 2021! This is a welcome sight for sore eyes!

Beautiful watch...

...and the hands are stunning, both in shape and color. Grossmann should only use this logotype going forward. The other one is not very good...

The hands.. oh those hands, to quote Jeremy Oster my AD. They are "Oh so delicious"
