quattro presents a captivating look at a unique Kari Voutilainen Worldtimer, a Piece Unique from 2023 that was sold by Phillips in 2024. This Piece Unique by Kari Voutilainen created in 2023 was sold in May 2024 by Phillips.

The dial represents part of our Earth as seen from the moon’s surface which is hand engraved.

The rest is miniature paining on enamel and Super-LumiNova was used for the separations between countries, the outer section of the Earth as well as on the moon’s crevices.

The watch is powered by Voutilainen’s calibre 216TMZ, featuring an escapement with two direct impulse escape wheels linked to an oversized, 13.5 mm free-sprung balance wheel with a Grossman interior curve and Philips exterior curve.

The white gold case measures 39 mm diameter.

This watch just reaffirms my belief that Kari Voutilainen is the number living watchmaker. Some may be more creative, others may be technically superior but I know not of any watchmaker (Dufour, Rexhepi and Smith included) who is able to present every watch he makes in the perfect package.
