I received a text from a good friend of mine (let's call him "renogreen" to protect his identity ) letting me know that he was on the verge of buying a watch about which my opinion is pretty well known! Don't think I needed to nudge him too much (if at all), and on Friday we had an opportunity to go to lunch and compare notes. Standard disclaimers about the photos: restaurant lighting, hand held, point and shoot, etc. -- not to mention shaking hands from the excitement of getting these two pieces in the same spot:

For me, at least, it's hard to imagine getting a whole lot better than this for "friendship watches!"

Unusual indeed...

It must have been a memorable moment. We can recognize the work of an Independant as there are several differences in writings/fonts: the caliber's texts are different, the "V" for Vianney is different etc ... and on the dial side, some figures are different too (as the "7" on the time display). An imaginative impulse from VH :) Did you know which one was yours before leaving ? Thanks for sharing Gary. Cheers, Mark

The small variations do make for interesting study

I am sure that there are no two of these absolutely alike! I did have a bit of trouble telling them apart, but the lettering on the caliber is the easiest differentiator... Best, Gary
