Shafran's original post presents a compelling dilemma for collectors: choosing between a Vacheron Constantin and a Rolex for a travel watch, both at similar price points. This comparison is particularly relevant for those seeking a sophisticated yet robust timepiece for global adventures. Shafran's query invites the WatchProSite community to weigh in on functionality, aesthetics, and overall travel utility, making this a valuable resource for anyone considering a high-end travel companion.

But Iβm bias and I canβt afford either π
The repeated Maltese cross motifs on the bezel and bracelet are not to my taste, but the dial on this piece is very cool.
the VC in my eyes is a true "travel watch". The SD is a great looking watch. I love mine, but it's a GMT watch to me. The VC is more fun, if you can say that, with the world map displaying all 24 hours. Good luck in your decision.
I would have to get two, one with daylight savings and one without :S
as a travel watch Rolex gmt master or exp II are better in terms of usability over multiple timezones.
But I always choose Rolex. And really admire the skydweller. Just wish I had the wrist to wear one. Hereβs a photo with my friend (who has 4 skydwellers - not kidding).
