We enjoyed a traditional Japanese meal at one of the temples.

This was a gift to the Shogun, the Kanji speaks of humility and appreciation for what you have. I love that sentiment!

The Golden temple was a highlight of the day, literally covered in gold flake. Simply astonishing and a must see if you are in Kyoto.

I chose this hotel in part because I thought the stairs in the lobby looked cool…I know, I’m weird that way. The light them up at night and it appears as water flowing down the stairs. Too fun!This message has been edited by India Whiskey Charlie on 2025-10-10 12:45:37

I went to Tokyo late Aug to early Sep and I'm already so tempted to visit Japan again...love the culture and food. Too many good memories.

Nijo Castle is definitely a site to behold!

I especially like Nijo Castle - it shows a different side of Japanese aesthetic - one that isn't very minimalist and one filled with beautiful gold decor. That's a cool hotel lobby! And it looks like you're eating very well!
