Everything is about opinions of course. For myself, certain categories of watches have an icon that couldn't be beaten. For Perpetual Calender Chronographs, it was the Patek 5970. For the chronograph only category, it was the Datograph/1815 (I put them both in this category). The Dato has been number 1 for me for nearly 20 yrs.
