Amanico recounts a captivating tale of a Vacheron Constantin Ref. 6563 in steel with a blue dial, a watch that twice eluded his grasp. This narrative highlights the often-frustrating yet thrilling pursuit of rare vintage timepieces in the collector's market. His detailed observations on the watch's dimensions and aesthetic appeal underscore its desirability.

Funny... A bit more than one year ago, I saw a superb Vacheron 6563 in steel with a blue dial in a watch shop. A few weeks after, it has been sold. While I was considering buying it for myself.

Today, I saw it again, and I was starting to think about making an offer, for the next year, as my watch budget is as flat as the heart of a Zombie...

I took several watches in picture, and when I came to speak to the watch dealer, the watch was... sold. wink

This is a marvel of a watch. The case is flat, nit super flat, as it is circa 8 mm high, and quite big despite its 35, 15 diameter. We had a bet with the dealer, it told me 35, I was betting around 37...

Manual winding movement, solid case back, cool hands, superb dial and top case. Yes, this is my cup of tea. Next time I will speak faster.  wink

Best,

Nicolas

It can be your formal wear watch. But Won't be on your wrist too often. [nt]

You say that because of your experience with the JLC MUT? This one looks like a 37 mm case. That was surprising to see that it is 2 mm smaller, in fact.
