I attended today the inauguration party of the new Swatch Megastore in Paris which is located on the Champs-Elysées.

The renovation works had a single objective: to make the Megastore colorful and fun! And this objective was reached as you can see it on the pictures!

One of the stars of the 2016 collection is the POP! POP is back and we can feel it on the walls: so wristwatch or pocketwatch? With POP, you can choose the way you wear it.

The lovely Dr Swatch is ready to take care of your watches!

Swatch also produces some accessories... and among them, fun glasses!

The inauguration party gave me the opportunity to taste a new ice-cream style: the ice-roll! Don't put your finger on the circular surface! Its temperature is -30° celsius!

I had the feeling to be in a candy store! I loved this atmosphere consistent with the strategy of the brand. Swatch wants to become fun again!

A global view of the Megastore:

Let's have a look at the watches I shot during the party.

A Megastore in a specific city shall offer its OWN watch! And since we are in Paris, the watch is a true hommage to the City of Lights. The dial is classic with the colors of the French flag but the strap is a concentré of French attitude with monuments and symbols of my country.

I like the fonts of the numerals:

Let's fly over the Ocean to attend the Games in Rio! The right time instrument is the Poptabon, a large (45mm) lollipop on the wrist! Obviously, the strap uses the colors of the 5 rings.

This System 51 Grid is one of the latest versions of this Automatic line. It is not my fav one but it features a quite original bezel.

This Swatch Lunar is a rare watch which can be purchase at the Vendôme boutique or also at the Megastore from now. It is the only Swatch which displays the moonphases. The blend of the classic dial lay-out with an Irony case is quite unusual. You will notice that the 4 in Roman numerals is written IV instead of the usual "IIII" used on watches dials.

This is another rare bird: the Swatch Irony Diaphane Automatic. I like the contrast between the bezel and the case. The circular decoration of the transparent dial is nicely made even if the legibility of the watch is not its main asset.

The Swatch Spot the Dot was created by the Italian designer Alessandro Mendini. It offers a nice contrast between the transparent dial and the large dots on the straps.

I would like to thank a lot Swatch for the invitation. I wish the best for the new life of the Megastore!

I don't think so but I have good news.

A Swatch 51 Irony is on the way. Expect to see it in September if I understood well. Fx
