Kong's detailed report offers a candid look at the inaugural "A Journey Through Time" watch show at Starhill Gallery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His observations provide valuable insights into the event's unique, mall-like structure, contrasting it with established watch exhibitions. This article captures Kong's initial impressions and subsequent deep dives into featured timepieces, offering a historical snapshot of a significant regional watch event.

Another entrance ...
By now, many would wonder, where are pictures for the booths and watches...
There are no booths arranged side-by-side with each other, under one hall.
Strangely, the approach of this event is not like Tempus or COT.
It is just like visiting a mall with multiple boutiques.
Perhaps it is just me... I was shocked and disappointed at the way this watchshow was organised and run.
The reference (like it or not) has already been set by recent Tempus. Hopefully next year they could improve.
Before leaving the mall, had a good chat with one retail manager who carries Blu and Romain Jerome.
Some pictures soon....

I too was disappointed by the event which was claimed to be rather ground breaking before it was started. Perhaps, they need more professional people to organise it. There was no highlight on the exotic pieces. The presence of too many VVVVIP made the events very uncomfortable to me. However, the AP boutique piece JBB launch was good. I hope you enjoy that night and am sorry that I have to leave earlier due to personal reason. Hope to see your post for any new acquisition. Regards Ling
Thanks to KT and TL for organising the meetup. Wonderful to catch up with Michelle, Li Ling and of course Wai En! Indeed I hope the Starhill team will sit down and analyse after the event, and plan well and earlier for next year! They should also consider the public has already seen the 2 major shows like COT and Tempus. It seems like COT is coming in 2008. Kong
Since we have only seen the Press Release pictures of the Rusted Timepieces of Romain Jerome, perhaps it would be great to see some 'untouch-up' pics. Walked into KHRONOS (a subsdiary of LuxuryConcepts) to have a look at these novelties. The Retail Manager, Yin, was happy to show the 2 key pieces of the Titanic-DNA Oxidised models. Starting with : Titanic-DNA - T-Oxy III (Ref : T.OXY3.BBBB.00.BB) Steel and titanium case of diameter 46 mm. Hands inspired by the Titanic's anchor. The 2 main novelt
This is the Titanic-DNA –Tourbillon rusted steel version (Ref : TO.T.OXY3.BBBB.00.BB) with the movement from BNB Concept S.A. This model is limited to 9 pieces and the retail is near to RM500,000 (about USD 148,000). Here are the pics : Movement: Movement BNB 1000RJ Number of jewels: 19 rubies Power reserve > 120 hours Frequency: 21’600 vibration/hour A side by side look of the 2 models. Anyone has any comments about these 2 watches? Kong
They are a brand of peri peri chicken take-away with a very zany advertising agency. Ads are always way out there! Their chicken is scruptious! Julian
Extremely interesting look! You wrote that the rusted steel went through some sort of proprietary process for stabilzation. Does that mean the rust won't flake off if u rub the bezel with your finger? I always wondered if one would require getting a tetanus shot before strapping on one of these Titanic rust watches Cheers, Anthony
