No you don’t. I was planning on a 3 weeks trip to Sicily and I was not sure about security as we would rent a house and stroll to different beaches on our own. Plus you always have no sleeves and anyone could spot the 20k watch and maybe the wrong guy in the wrong place 😫. I looked at Seiko sports watches and other options. I get tired of them and they are huge.
I ended up with this Sinn vintage looking quite modest 40mm for this type of watch. The 856 B Uhr
I liked the look of it and I always admired Sinn for their straight and honest approach to building purpose watches.
Silicone band and specially frosted steel that cannot scratch-tegimented they call it. No worries and no nonsense.
I really like the watch.
What is other purist take on the no nonsense beach watch that you can afford to loose so to speak and still like to wear.
I must say I was thinking about a vintage diver or vintage dress or vintage military too, but the sand and the salt water just held me off from that one.
No, Sinn did the job for me.
Wonder what my fellow Purist are doing when they decide to leave the collection in the safe and hit the unknown.

Best

Jens

Good thought process and watch choice.

I, too, have had an interest in Sinn but haven't yet pulled the trigger. Your Sinn looks spot on for the purpose you describe. M4

Thanks M4-did you ever have to make similar choices? Or you just leave the collection at home and wear no watch?

Was even thinking about iWatch but only for a few seconds.

Been wearing this under-the-radar watch on similar occasions.

SUF Helsinki "Vetehinen" It's robust, comfortable, and doesn't draw attention. I love it. M4

Wow never heard of it. Really nice finishing. And I mean it (even if this can be seen as a wordplay as well.) Looks great, sturdy and well made and goes 300 metres-they have some nice green dials too! [nt]

Seiko for holidays is smart Horology

It’s always a balance. You also want to enjoy and wear your watches as much as possible. But you just have to be wise when the risk is obvious and the exposure is high or you just don’t know what you’re going in to.
