KMII offers a compelling first look at the Sinn 6200 Meisterbund, focusing on its design evolution and collaborative origins. His impressions from Vienna Time provide valuable insights into how this limited-edition piece aims to bridge Sinn's robust heritage with a more formal aesthetic, sparking community discussion on its market positioning and value.

I managed to squeeze in a quick visit to Vienna Time yesterday (sadly had to miss the opportunity to meet up with Ornatus Mund & Ms. R this afternoon) and one of the very interesting pieces on display has been the second iteration of the Sinn Meisterbund. The first one, limited to 55 pieces in rose gold is seemingly all sold out now, so a second run in white gold is planned. The prototype they brought with is likely to remain unique - being encased in silver (and likely to acquire a warm patina over time as a result).

I find the watch even more convincing in the white metal case and the blue-ish dial is wonderfully done. The silver on blue colour combo simly works, even if it is colder than RG. It sits very nicely on the wrist and is supremely legible. A time only piece, I'd say it has all it needs and little else. The use of double digit aplied hour indices throughout (so 02, 04...) may be a bit of an acquired taste but it adds symmetry to the watch. The leaf shaped hands fit perfectly, too.

My movement shot is nothing to write home about but the movement is certainly one of the highlights of the piece. Created by UWD (Uhrenwerke Dresden) it is a modern design and IMHO its looks really complement the dial side well. One might ask if the price would not necessitate a more elaborate level of finishing but in terms of quality it looked top notch (albeit without a loupe - did not have an opportunity to use it).

So if you are a fan of the Frankfurt brand but want something more formal than their usual offerings, this is definitely an interesting choice.

Your take?

Me like. Nice dial, interesting movement. I am curious and want to know more...

And see it in the real! Best, Nicolas

Thanks Nico!

Some more details - the Meisterbund is a collaboration of three companies, namely Sinn, Sächsische Uhrentechnologie Glashütte (case) and Uhrenwerke Dresden (movement). The movement is a new construction that has previously been used in Leinfelder watches (Munich) but I suppose the volumes must have been tiny. 55 hour power reserve. And 55 pieces, all for the brand\'s 55th anniversary The case is a conservative 40mm, making it quite universal and the movement measures 33mm, so definitely not too

I recently saw this offered in the U.S.

I guess for pre-order. Agreed, KMII, this WG seems slightly nicer than the original-I believe also that dial and case are more harmonious. The movement is the project of Marco Lang and his attempt to make a German movement in numbers that many German brands will be able to use going forward. By the way-the Leinfelder is also a beautiful piece.

Thanks for your thoughts, Padj!

Never seen the Leinfelder live but the darkened movement in it looks appealing Seen the Meisterbund live yet?

No I haven't.

I need to find a brick and mortar AD for Sinn-most of their U.S. sales are through an internet company out of North Carolina. That's not around the corner for me.
