jrwong23 (aka watchthebin) chronicles a memorable PuristSPro gathering in Singapore, celebrating a friend's birthday with a 'gold' themed dinner. The post showcases an impressive array of timepieces, from modern wristwatches to rare vintage pocket watches, all adhering to the golden theme.

I had a stressful week at work today and TGIF!
Whole week I was looking forward to this day. A few of us friends and Purists in Singapore gathered for dinner to celebrate a dear friend's birthday.

The theme was gold... all that glitters. Just gold, no platinum. Watches with gold hands or dials or rotors or movements are allowed too, even if the case is not gold. Any colored gold was allowed. WG, YG, PG, etc. 18k. 14k, all ok.

See what we brought! Hope you enjoy these pics
Have a great weekend all!

Cheers

I believe that in some forms of urushi work, gold dust is sprinkled on the painted surface before the final lacquer coat. Thanks for the GTG report. Regards, MTF

Love the vintage JLCs in both wrist and pocket watch. Really impressive wrists showed up. What do you think of the Yellow gold Boutique American 1921 compared to the normal RG version? Had you seen it before? That is a rare piece, too. Best, respo

I forgot to mention that. And also the PP has a rose gold rotor. Thanks for your inputs! The Chopard Urushis are growing on me. My only concern is I can't carry them well. Cheers Robin
