Blomman Mr Blue recounts his whirlwind visit to the Girard-Perregaux exhibition at SIHH 2018, emphasizing his singular focus on the watches and their rich history despite a tight schedule. This post captures the essence of a dedicated collector's experience, prioritizing direct engagement with the timepieces and their creators over the broader event.
Last year I made a big post about the Girard-Perregaux Exhibition at SIHH…
This year I didn’t have the time to really explore the exhibition…
Only had three hours on the ground, so no fancy lunch with big digital press guys…
I didn’t even have time for a lunch that day.
I didn’t even see the SIHH halls…
The Girard-Perregaux Exhibition was the first one on the left from the entrance.
So, I entered only like 30 meters into the halls and never got any further...
My flight landed 30 minutes before my meeting should start so I literally rushed from my seat in the plane to my meeting…
Only snapped these shots of the exhibition on my way in.
A mobile display putting focus on the different novelty models.
And in the center, some of the heavier pieces…
As said, I had to rush there and rush on my way back as well…
Passing through security at the airport very late but made it back home thanks to delays due to the weather …
What I did have time for was a private meeting with some of the creators of the novelties!
To get each watch explained to you in details by the people behind the watches…
Priceless! Something I very much appreciate!
Now back home, a lot of photos to work, watches to digest, reviews to write.
As always, a true pleasure to meet the GP team, I would like to send a BIG and WARM thank you to you all for your kindness and hospitality!
Stay tuned, reviews are on their way!
Best
