Amanico offers a distinctive perspective on the 2013 SIHH, focusing beyond new releases to the immersive booth designs and overall ambiance. His report highlights the creative ways brands like Cartier, IWC, A. Lange & Söhne, and Roger Dubuis presented their horological visions, providing a unique look at the fair's experiential side.

This year, I didn't visit all the booths, as i focused my attention to the JLC collection, but I wanted to share some ambiance pictures with you, of this event, and to share another view of the SIHH, with some surprising window displays.

At this game, there are some excellent players.

Let's see Cartier, first, which knows how to put in perspective their vision of horology, in an exquisite way:

For the big children we still are, and that we never stopped to be, the IWC booth is for us!

This year their universe is the automotive world. And a wonderful one:

While Lange played it ala Lange... in a Kolosal way.

wink

At the opposite of Roger Dubuis, which is certainly the craziest booth of the year!

A kind of journey into middle age. " Exccalibur " in the Roger Dubuis language.

Most of the visitors were captivated by the eagle, I must say that I had a different " favourite ":

Carmen Chaplin, Charlie's grandaughter, was at the JLC booth, to pay an homage to her grandfather' Memovox:

The SIHH is also the opportunity to meet friends, such as the " Frisco Gang " who was massively present, or the usual " suspects ":

There were also some who felt a bit lost or alone:

The SIHH wouldn't be the SIHH without an excellent logistic, as you can see.

As I said, I didn't cover several brands I like, this year, but I saw their booths.

I will end with some very personal thoughts: For me, the clear winners are JLC and Lange, and I am happy to have seen one of the big stars of the fair, the 1815 Rattrapante QP, along with the JLC MUT 39 Jubilé, the Gyro 3, and a few others at the " Grande Maison ".

I was disappointed by Panerai, and Vacheron. And I am still indifferent to the IWC collection.

But you will read my colleagues opinion and reports in the weeks to come, to make your own judgement.

So, stay tuned!

Best,

Nothing exciting, from my point of view, in the Panerai and VC offer.

Nothing WOW, nothing which provides me some sparks in the eyes, some shivering effect....Flat line... But I am alwways open to discuss, if you ever noticed something which is of your taste. Best, Nicolas

NIcolas, A simple Vacheron is the star of the show for me and a major contender in the "best dress watch" category: the Patrimony Traditionnelle 38 mm in platinum. To my taste, it's virtues include ideal proportions, elegance, beauty, simplicity, discretion, in-house movement, and the ease with which it can be set and wound for occasional use. Not bad, indeed, Park. Agreed on this one. [nt]
