Before describing today's event, a background on the watch matter: my partner and I've been looking around for the appropriate watch for both of us (lucky me, she doesn't like the idea, of an engagement ring, but an engagement watch). First was Nomos, then a JLC, and then a Bvlgari for her, but none of these seem to fully grasp her attention. She also isn't one who takes long to make up her mind on her watch (she took 3 hours of browsing and committing to her first love, watch-wise, in her JLC Master Geographic). Whereas, I'm no so picky and prefer to delay it as an anniversary watch in a form of grail watch. Haha, greedy much.

What started to be a normal day quickly turned into a surprising and eventful day for my partner and I. Out of the blue, she came to me and asked me about the newly launched Seiko Blue Lagoon LE Turtle we saw a few days back. Knowing the Blue Lagoon is recently launched, we took quick trip to the AD where we bought my Green/Emerald LE Turtle, and saw it sitting there lonelily.

Of course, I got excited and curious, and asked what made her brought up the topic. She suggested the notion of the Blue Lagoon being a LE watch makes her desire it more than the other brands she's been window-shopping for. She's also pretty impressed by the fact that some Seiko workhorse movements continue to go strong for more than a decade.

What happened was fast and furious: we rang the AD, reserved their only piece, and rushed our way to them. As they say: the rest was history. biggrin

Without further ado, our engagement LE Turtles:

Left: Hers - Seiko SRPB11K1 (aka Blue Lagoon Turtle LE) ; Right: Mine - Seiko SRPB01K1 (aka Emerald Turtle LE)

On wrists:

And we also successfully homebaked the famous bouncy Osaka Rikuro Japanese Cheesecake (she did most of the heavy-lifting, as I prefer cooking to baking). Wanted to place our watches on the cake and call them 'icing on the cake', but the pair of dive watches most probably will take a dive into the cake, haha!

Hope you guys enjoy our engagement LE Turtles!

Cheers!
Tony

She's a keeper!

Awesome! My wife bought me a wedding watch instead of a ring, although it took years for us to have a his and hers (Rolexes first, Omegas later, now working on the next pair).
