About the Seiko Seiko Divers Ref. 6309-729A

The Seiko 6309-729A is a second-generation diver from the 6309 series, distinguished by its "slimmed-down" round case, a departure from the earlier cushion-cased variants. Produced from 1982 to 1988, this model overlapped with the first generation, though in reduced numbers. It represents a design evolution that influenced subsequent Seiko diver aesthetics.

This particular reference features a blue and red "Pepsi" bezel, setting it apart from the black-bezel 6309-7290. Dials for the 6309-729A often include a "17 JEWELS" inscription above the 6 o'clock marker, indicating a Japan-made version. The watch is powered by the automatic Seiko caliber 6309 movement.

Due to its relatively short production run and popularity for modifications, finding a 6309-729A with an entirely correct and authentic dial, particularly with the tiny SUWA logo in proper proportion, is a key consideration for collectors. Its distinct case and bezel make it a sought-after vintage piece.

This watch made me really fall in love with watches and every time I don't wear it and I see a picture of one I get this urge to grab it again. It's too strong. My other watches don't do this. It's perfect in every sense. The dial is stunning, so are the indices, it goes so perfectly with a jubilee or oyster bracelet or a nato. The day Seiko decided to discontinue it, that's the day everything pure about watches changed and
