Alex presents a striking transformation of his Romain Jerome Steampunk, showcasing a custom modification that removes the original rusty bezel coating. This 'pimping' redefines the watch's aesthetic from Steampunk to Cyberpunk, offering a fresh, monochromatic look that aligns with a more industrial vibe. The post also highlights a unique, hand-tattooed strap by MOC, further personalizing the timepiece.

This summer I came out of the closet and admitted not to only liking the Romain Jerome Steampunk model but to actually having bought one home.watchprosite.com

After some discussions with Manuel Emch the CEO of Romain Jerome we decided to test what the bezzel with its rusty appearance would look like if the coating was removed and... voila.

Looks like a totally new watch, more post industrial than steampunk...something straight out of a Nine Inch Nails song! We've gone from Steampunk to Cyberpunk. A more monochromatic look which perfectly fits (IMHO) the dial. I also added a tatooed strap hand tatooed  by our very own MOC!!

I think the bezel really suits the numbers on the dial now which before did not match with the rusted look so well to my eyes. It will be interesting to see what happens to this metal now, does it have any coating on it or just plain as I guess it will naturally rust? I have one of the original chrono releases of the titanic and as much as I like it I always thought there was something wrong with the bezel as the brown colour just looked a little too brown and perfect if that makes sense. its fun!! In an industry which tends to take itself way too seriously it was a true breath of fresh air. Some (many?) may see just another marketing brand in RJ , I see a brand which tries to offer something totally different, something creative and fun which treads off beaten paths and which doesn't require someone to sell an arm to finance I'm talking about the brand post Manual Emch not before. I'm as much a movement geek as the other Purists but sometimes you just want to stop dining at a 3s
