Baselworld 2010

I guess it was not the year when Rolex have try to suprise the customers with some sparkling news.

There was a new 31 mm Lady DateJust model, new maybe is a strog word to use in this case.

The new is it have a new gem set bezel with 24 or 48 brilliants. There will be a new dial with a

gem set 6 o'clock hour marker.

A blinged mini rootbeer for your ol lady, the chocolate dial?

The SS Submariner in the "supercase" with maxi dial/hands. Now there is the blue luminescent called Chromalight instead of Luminova.

The green SS model is same as the black one and those watches have the Cerachrom ceramic bezel inset and the movement now

have the blue Parachrome hairspring. The Glidelock clasp is new for this model too.

The Blue WG Submariner with diamonds index's.

A drumroll for........................

The only new model this year from Rolex. The 39 mm Explorer instead of 36 mm as the old one. With a matte dial and numbers

without paint.  A new movement with a perpetual rotor (what that means), Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers. I

guess it will have the blue  luminescent called Chromalight instead of Luminova.

Tudor come up with something that get my attention this year. Back to the roots, a vintage looking Tudor Heritage.

The original one in 40 mm.

And the new one in 42 mm. It have a Valjoux 7734 movement with a Dubois-dépraz 2054 module for the chronograph.

The grey dial.

The black dial.

It comes with both bracelet and a nylon strap.

Thanks, Jocke!

Wonderful pictures! What did you think of the new Explorer? I like the matte dial, but somehow the original size makes much more sense to me. Oh, well, this one certainly deserves a try. Thanks for another great report! Best, Alex

Now that is a post, Jocke!

You managed to take beautiful pics of the watches in the conditions we all know: Bad light, reflections everywhere, and I really don't know how you did to take such nice photos, my friend! Besides its bigger volume, the dial of the new Explo I made me think about the small series of Explo I so called Black out " because of the lack of luminous material in tghe 3 / 6 and 9 indexes. I have to see all of them in the flesh, but let's just say for the moment that I'm not impressed. But, as always, th

Thanks for the information on the " new " Explo II, Jocke.

I'm so in love with the current Explo II that I fear it will be replaced by something ...too special. Best, my friend. Nicolas

Liking or disliking those models is here impossible, Those photos are simply remarkable

Many thanks for sharing those wonderful shots. Actually now thanks to you, I am curious about that new green submariner. From your photos, It seems the colour isn't what I thought it was till your post. I will need to check it out, who knows may be one more to add on my short 2010 list of wishes. Again thank you for sharing your superb photos. Just in case you have the answer, do you think the green colour is as the earlier submariner or is it a deeper green?

It's hard to se the colors with all those spotlights.......

but someone whispered in my ear the green bezel will be a little darker at the final release.
